Minecraft’s Mountain Technology Is Getting Revamped With Five New Biomes

The newest Minecraft developments have largely centered on the ‘caves’ side of the Caves and Cliffs replace, however now we’re lastly getting some more cliff action - or quite, a giant revamp to how mountains get generated, with the addition of five new sub biomes to spice up your tall, rocky terrain.

The latest Bedrock Edition beta introduces five new mountain sub biomes, known as lofty peaks, snow capped peaks, snowy slopes, mountain grove, and mountain meadow.  MINECRAFTSERVERS  will work alongside the existing mountain types to create a extra varied selection of alpine areas to explore. The brand new peaks look impressive in the official picture above, but scroll down a bit to see a fan-made comparability of latest and outdated mountains. It’s a large change.

Whereas this is a Bedrock beta, these changes should come to Java as effectively - as the Java snapshots have given us early looks at features like deepslate, glow squids, and the brand new ore textures, it looks like Bedrock beta gamers are getting their very own early appears at some new options, too. (This update, by the way, also adds glow squids and the ore textures to the Bedrock beta.)

You can get full patch notes on Reddit, and a greater take a look at the new mountains on the official site.
